Backroads explores the often overlooked corners of life; spaces off the main path where stories quietly unfold.
This series is centered around the exploration of temporary spaces that are shaped by cultural identity and traditions of BIPOC communities in rural Eastern, North Carolina. Using both place and memory, this collection of work examines how heritage, family and environment shape identity and routine.
It’s about the journeys we take, both literal and emotional, through landscapes that are lived-in, layered, and full of unseen narratives.
